So, here we are having celebrated the longest day and being part-way through "summer", but with little in the way of summery weather to show for it. I must admit to finding the light nights very disconcerting; it's easy to sit up way later than you want to or should, simply because it's still light outside and therefore you don't think it can possibly be bedime yet. Still, the nights will be drawing in now (so spake the voice of doom!)
Back to the point of this blog post; here we have the back of the house one year ago on Wednesday the 22nd of June 2011 - the roof truss is in place on the two-storey extension.
Please excuse me being lazy and re-using a photo from a couple of weeks ago of the back of the house - but nothing has changed between then and now, Friday the 22nd of June 2012 (except the lawn has been mowed!)
Coming inside, here's a view of the second floor of the extension - the three windows that are now in our ensuite (far left) and bedroom - on Wednesday 22nd of June 2011.
It's hard to get a comparable shot because the wall between the ensuite and bedroom has been put up, but here are the bedroom windows today, Friday 22nd of June 2012. Excuse our bedroom looking messy; it also needs some pictures on the walls and some blinds at the windows, but it's a work in progress.
The ensuite (featuring the window to the far left on the photo from 2011) looks like this today, Friday 22nd of June 2012, although it was hard to get a good photo due to the light coming in through the window into a fairly confined space.
Next door we have DC's bedroom, here on Wednesday 22nd of June 2011, windowless and full of builder-detritus.
Again, it's hard to get a totally comparable shot since the wall to the left has been put up, plus there's a wardrobe that prevents me standing in quite the right spot, but I'm sure you get the idea - here's DC's bedroom this evening, Friday 22nd June 2012.
And one more internal shot from Wednesday 22nd of June 2011 - here's the stud work being put up to make the wall between one of the front bedrooms and what would become the bathroom, with the ensuite + master bedroom beyond.
The shot take from the same place today, Friday 22nd of June 2012, is particularly uninspiring since it's pretty much just a blank wall, a chest of drawers with some of hubby's clothes piled on top, and a lovely pair of wooden step ladders that we bought from the Bridport antiques market.
The good thing about these very uninspiring/messy shots of this spare bedroom and our 'master' bedroom is that it make me want to crack on and get these rooms sorted; plus it means that there will be more 'compare and contrast' photos once we've worked on them.
