House Renovation. One Year On. 31.07.12

Here's the freshly plastered ceiling in the living area on Sunday the 31st of July 2011. The plasterers worked over the weekend to get things done in time for the decorator to start.

Here's the same space today, Tuesday the 31st of July 2012. Much lighter and brighter since the ceiling and walls got their coat of white paint. Just before the decorator started our builder asked if we'd chosen the colours for the house. Say wha?? We didn't have a clue what colour(s) we wanted - how can you choose a colour scheme for a house that you've never lived in? So we decided to have white absolutely everywhere in order to start with a blank canvas that we can change in the future, if we want to/can be bothered.

This is the ceiling in the dining area, which is in the front part of the open plan downstairs space, one year ago.

And the same space today. Looks a lot more homely with curtains and other tat in the windows.

And today, Tuesday the 31st of July 2012. The patio looks a little tidier these days...
