House Update - It's a Good One!

No news is good news as the saying goes. And the lack of reports from me regarding the sale of our Henley house confirm this, for tomorrow (fingers crossed...) we complete!

Hubby has been working hard for the last couple of weeks emptying the loft and sheds, tidying the garden, taking rubbish to the tip and bringing lots and lots of boxes and all sorts of stuff we didn't know we needed and have managed to live without for quite some time over to this house which is now bursting at the seams (time for some serious de-cluttering.) This afternoon we made our final visit to the house to say a quick goodbye; not a hint of sadness on my part, even though it was the first house we bought together. We haven't lived there for over two years now so I found it hard to feel any attachment to the place; I'm glad we moved out as there would absolutely not have been enough room for us all since DC arrived, plus the area was always a little too noisey for our liking and we found one of our next door neighbours a little annoying. Sounds like such a great place, eh?!
Now it just remains for us to find another house... Easier said than done when we can't even decide on a location.

Day Trip to Dunster

Today's holiday outing was a trip to Dunster, a gorgeous Somerset town full of wonderful buildings dating as far back as the 15th century.
The Yarn Market at the top of the High Street dates back to the 16th century and parts of the castle which overlooks the town are mediaeval.
All in all, it's a very pretty little place and, the icing on the cake, are the lovely shops dotted around!

I'm Still Here!

I can hardly believe how long it's been since I last posted on here; excuses? Hmm, busy with work, busy with DC and then I just found that the longer it went without posting, the harder it was to get back into it. Does that make sense? There seemed like so many things I could write about that there were too many things and I didn't know where to start.

But I have to get back into posting on here, so here I am! At the moment we are enjoying a family holiday in Devon:

Tuesday we went had a trip to lovely Dulverton and then on to Exmoor to scatter my Dad's ashes (hope it's not illegal - please don't report me to the authorities!)

Wednesday we went to Teignmouth and DC had his first trip to the beach; not hugely successful from his point of view - everytime he touched the sand with hands or feet it made him cry! But we enjoyed ourselves - picnic on the beach, a walk along the prom with an ice cream, then losing some money on the pier ("better than Vegas" as hubby said!) Then we drove to Totnes and had a walk up and down Fore Street - a very impressive collection of shops; I didn't realise quite how "alternative" Totnes was, lots of 'green'-ness going on. Very nice it was too.

Today we went to South Molton for the market; a very nice little town, despite the rain!

News of DC: he's now staanding up and "cruising" a little. A whole new dimension to his world, and ours!
